Frederick Speckeen has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles throughout their career. Frederick is currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer at Mawari Inc., where they are leading the development of a blockchain-enabled AR/XR delivery network. Prior to this, Speckeen co-founded Edisonian Partners Limited in 2011, a company focused on providing services to technology-enabled startups. Frederick also served as a Co-Founder/Investor at NuEnergy.ai from 2018 to 2020.
In their previous roles, Speckeen served as AVP Innovation at MUSIC Group and held the position of Global Business Manager at TC Electronic. At TC Electronic, they successfully led product management and business execution, grew the business by 33% in 18 months, and founded a startup mobile app and hardware development team.
Speckeen has also served as an Executive In Residence and International Advisory Board Member at Gustavson School of Business, University of Victoria, and as the CEO of Terapeak, a SaaS e-commerce data-mining company that was later acquired by eBay Inc. Frederick also had significant experience at TC Group A/S, where they held positions such as Director of Business Development and CEO of TC-Helicon Vocal Technologies.
Speckeen started their career as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at IVL Technologies Ltd., where they led the growth of the core business by 500% and secured IP licensing agreements with major companies. Frederick began their professional journey as a Consultant at NGL Consulting. Throughout their career, Speckeen has demonstrated expertise in areas such as business development, product innovation, marketing strategy, and execution.
Frederick Speckeen pursued their education with a focus on international business. Frederick began their educational journey at St Francis Xavier University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree between the years 1983 and 1985. Wanting to further expand their knowledge in this field, they enrolled in the Ivey Business School at Western University, where they completed their Master of Business Administration degree in International Business from 1989 to 1991. In 1990, Speckeen also attended the Copenhagen Business School for a short period, where they pursued a program called APIM in International Business.
In addition to their formal education, Speckeen has also obtained a certification as a member of the Association of International Product Marketing and Management (AIPMM) from the institution AIPMM The Association of International Product Marketing and Management. Frederick acquired this certification in January 2017.
Furthermore, Speckeen has sought to expand their knowledge and skills through a Digital Marketing Workshop Series, provided by Future Point of View in 2015. Although this program does not warrant a degree or field of study, it showcases their commitment to continuous learning and staying updated in their professional field.
