Weston Nielson has a diverse work experience. Weston began their career at UCLA in 2006 as a Software Developer and later became a Graduate Student Researcher (GSR) until 2015. In 2015, they joined Music Audience Exchange (MAX) as a Software and Data Engineer, progressing to Senior Software and Data Engineer in 2016. From 2019 to 2021, Weston worked as a Lead Software Engineer at MAX before being promoted to Director of Engineering in 2021. Currently, they hold the position of VP of Engineering at MAX, starting in March 2022.

Weston Nielson obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science and Engineering from UCLA in the years 2004 to 2009. Weston then pursued further education at UCLA, completing their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Materials Science and Engineering from 2009 to 2015.
