Michael Smith

Michael Smith is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the geospatial and satellite imagery sectors. Currently serving as a Product Manager for the Direct Access Program at Maxar Technologies since December 2017, Michael previously held the position of Sales Engineer for Strategic International Programs at the same company. Prior to that, a decade was spent at DigitalGlobe, where leadership as a Production Supervisor involved managing a team of GIS and Remote Sensing experts and creating custom solutions for satellite imagery products. Michael's career began in 2005 with an internship at Bechtel Nevada Corporation, followed by a role as Poker Room Supervisor at The Gilpin Casino. Michael holds a Master's degree in Geographic Information Systems and Geodetics from the University of Colorado Denver and two Bachelor's degrees in Geography and Environmental Science from the University of Colorado Boulder.
