Zack Pirkl is a seasoned aerospace engineer with over a decade of experience at Maxar Technologies, where responsibilities include serving as the PPE Mission and Ground Lead for the NASA Artemis Lunar Gateway and managing mission operations systems engineering. Previous roles entail leading teams in research and development, establishing a Fault Management and System Safety Engineering Group, and designing the second-generation Li-Ion Power Subsystem Electronics. Prior to Maxar, Zack gained experience as an Instrument Systems Engineering Intern at USRA, contributing to the Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy project. Zack holds a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from San José State University.
