Patrick J. Balthrop, Sr.

Mr. Balthrop has more than three decades of experience in diagnostics, life science tools, and medical devices. In addition to his role at MaxCyte, Mr. Balthrop is Founder and Principal of Apalachee Ventures, LLC, an investment and advisory firm. He also serves as executive advisor to Water Street Healthcare Partners, a healthcare-focused private equity firm. He also serves on the boards of Discovery Life Sciences, Agendia, Inc., Pattern Bioscience, and The Nature Conservancy. Mr. Balthrop holds a BS in biology from Spring Hill College and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
