Amarnath Puttur

Amarnath Puttur has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Amarnath started their career at Heuristix Systems Pvt. Ltd. in India as a Member-Technical Staff. Amarnath then moved on to Nuntius Systems India Pvt. Ltd, where they worked as a Software Engineer, primarily focused on developing software simulators for Cable Modem hardware. Amarnath later joined Nuntius Systems, Inc. as a Sr. Software Engineer, where they worked on various automated test suites for DOCSIS Standards.

Amarnath then transitioned to Conexant Systems as a Staff Software Engineer, where they designed and developed firmware for satellite frontends and worked on free-to-air and set-top box applications. From there, they moved to NXP Semiconductors as a Staff Software Engineer, leading software development for Satellite STB frontend driver/firmware. Amarnath also implemented embedded firmware protocols for DIRECTV SWM ODU communication.

Next, Amarnath joined Trident Microsystems as a Staff Software Engineer and continued in that role even after NXP Semiconductor's STB BU was purchased by Trident Microsystems. Amarnath worked as a Software Lead and was involved in developing software for STB frontend.

Amarnath then joined Entropic Communications, where they held two positions. As a Staff Software Engineer, they developed embedded software for DVB-S2/Turbo demods and wideband digital tuners. Later, as a Sr. Staff Software Engineer, they worked on satellite STB demodulator software/firmware for the next generation ODU.

Currently, Amarnath is working at MaxLinear as a Principal Software Engineer. Amarnath is involved in developing various device drivers for Linux and FreeBSD, including PCIe Gen 4/Gen 5 Processing accelerator and EVK software development for Remote PHY/MACPHY Device. Additionally, they have implemented SCIF protocols in ODU turnkey application.

Throughout their career, Amarnath has gained expertise in embedded software development, firmware design, and testing for satellite communication technologies, set-top boxes, and cable modems.

Amarnath Puttur completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics & Communications from SDM College of Engineering and Technology, Karnatak University, between 1990 and 1994. Additionally, they pursued an extension program in Computer Software Engineering at UC San Diego, however, no information is available regarding the specific years of enrollment or completion.
