Ramkumar Prakasam

Ramkumar Prakasam is a seasoned professional in ASIC design and engineering, currently serving as Director of ASIC Design at MaxLinear since October 2019, where responsibilities include developing storage compression and DOCSIS infrastructure ASICs. Prior to MaxLinear, Ramkumar held notable positions at Qualcomm as Principal/Director of Engineering, leading mobile modem and connectivity SoC development. Ramkumar also worked at Broadcom Corp as Senior IC Design Manager, overseeing SOC projects and hardware architecture, and served as Technical Lead at Morphics, Inc., focusing on 3G baseband basestation chipsets. Early career experience includes roles at Cadence Design Systems as Lead Design Engineer and Intel Corp as Design Engineer, specializing in circuit design and high-performance systems. Ramkumar holds an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland and a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
