Ben Chartier

Head Of Product Development at MaxMine

Ben Chartier has a strong background in engineering and product development. Ben has been working at MaxMine since 2017, where they started as a Senior Development Engineer and later became the Technology Development Manager. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Product Development. At MaxMine, Ben is responsible for leading the development of new products and technologies.

Before joining MaxMine, Ben worked at Nova Systems as an Autonomous Systems Capability Lead and Systems Engineer. During their time at Nova Systems, they provided independent expertise in delivering complex projects and solving technological challenges for industry and government clients.

Ben also has experience in academia, having served as a Casual Lecturer at the University of Adelaide. Ben taught courses in aerospace engineering and developed new course materials and assessments for advanced topics in fixed wing flight stability, control, and introduction to helicopters.

Prior to their academic role, Ben worked at Prism Defence as a Senior Dynamics Engineer. Ben led the design and development of a simulation software package for ship motion limits analysis in helicopter embarked operations. Ben also provided subject matter expertise for the integration of small rotary wing unmanned aerial platforms.

Additionally, Ben worked as a Casual Lecturer at the University of Adelaide, delivering lectures in automotive aerodynamics and assisting with aeronautical structural laboratory and machine dynamics courses.

Earlier in their career, Ben gained experience as a Summer Student at the Defence Science and Technology Organisation.

Throughout their career, Ben has demonstrated a strong ability to develop and implement innovative solutions in engineering and product development, with a focus on delivering value outcomes for clients.

Ben Chartier attended Pulteney Grammar School from 1998 to 2003, where they completed their secondary education. Ben then enrolled at the University of Adelaide, where they studied Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering from 2003 to 2007, earning a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree. In 2011, Ben furthered their education by pursuing a Diploma of Management at Leadership Management Australasia, which they completed in 2012.
