MaxSil™ is an emerging producer of a patented silicon fertiliser, which boosts food production as well as plant health, whilst reducing fertiliser and pesticide needs. MaxSil™ is derived from recycled glass and hence is part of the Circular Economy.

MaxSil Pty Ltd has initiated production of its patented silicon fertiliser, MaxSil™, at its Brendale, Qld plant in April. The product is composed of amorphous silica from recycled glass, offering plant nutrition benefits without the health risks linked to crystalline silicas. Since its discovery in 2014, MaxSil™ has been refined to become a top silicon-based plant nutrient globally, with patents in seven countries across three continents.

Silicon fertilisers like MaxSil™ address the depletion of silicon in commercial soils by providing plant available silicon (PAS), enhancing crop yield and resilience against various environmental and biological stresses. MaxSil™ delivers 10 to 20 times more PAS than comparable products, reducing transport and spreading costs while enhancing farm efficiencies and minimizing carbon footprint.

The product's effectiveness has been confirmed in field trials on various crops and has been shown to restore condemned saline soils, providing a potential solution for salt-affected regions. MaxSil is dedicated to further research through a partnership with the University of Western Australia and various farm trials.
