Urs Frey

Urs Frey is the CEO at MaxWell Biosystems. Prior to this, they were a Principal Investigator at RIKEN from April 2011 to March 2016. Urs also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at IBM Research from May 2009 to April 2011. In April 2016, they became a Group Leader at ETH Zurich and held this position until September 2018. Urs also worked as a PostDoc at ETH Zurich, Bio Engineering Laboratory from January 2008 to October 2010. Urs's responsibilities there included supervising neurochip related activities. From December 2003 to December 2007, they worked as a PhD Student at ETH Zurich, Physical Electronics Laboratory, where they researched in the field of analog and mixed-signal circuit design for neuronal interfaces and chemical gas sensors. In July 2001, they worked as an Engineer at Alstom Power (Japan Gas Turbine).

Urs Frey has a PhD from ETH Zurich and a degree from KZO.
