Luis Cantu

Luis Cantu is a seasoned educational professional with extensive experience in instructional coaching and program management. Currently serving as a Senior Consultant at MAYA Consulting since January 2022, Luis previously held the role of Program Manager at Ed Direction from June 2018 to December 2021. Prior to that, a significant tenure at IDEA Public Schools from June 2014 to June 2018 included positions as Regional Director of Instructional Coaching and Instructional Coach, where Luis was instrumental in coaching new educational leaders and supporting effective curriculum delivery. Additional experience with Teach For America from June 2012 to July 2014 encompassed roles as School Director, Institute, and Manager of Teacher Leadership Development, focusing on training new teachers and enhancing classroom practices. Early career experience as an Advanced World Geography Teacher and Department Head at Roma Independent School District laid the foundation for Luis's commitment to educational excellence. Academic credentials include a National Principal Supervisor Academy from Relay Graduate School of Education and a Bachelor of Arts in History from The University of Texas at Austin.
