Joonbeom Pae

JoonBeom Pae is a seasoned tax attorney with extensive experience in both domestic and international tax matters, particularly focusing on private funds and M&A issues. Currently serving as the Global Head of Korea Practice and Partner at Mayer Brown since October 2018, JoonBeom previously held roles as Counsel and Associate at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, as well as Special Counsel at Jenner & Block. Earlier career positions include advising corporate and private equity clients at Kirkland & Ellis and consulting for Korean companies at The International Trade Consulting Inc. JoonBeom began professional training as a CPA at KPMG, where corporate tax returns were prepared and audits conducted. Academic qualifications include a JD, cum laude, from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, an LLM in Taxation from New York University School of Law, and a BA, summa cum laude, from Seoul National University.
