SETA / Principal Systems Engineer at Mayvin

James Ayala has over 20 years of experience in various technology roles. James is currently working as a SETA / Principal Systems Engineer at Mayvin®, where they provide strategic and technical advice to USSOCOM and represents client needs during product development. From 2016 to 2020, they were a Senior Technical Consultant at Ops Tech Alliance, LLC., responsible for developing relationships and service contracts, as well as ensuring system performance for enterprise users. Prior to that, James worked at the United States Department of Defense from 2009 to 2016, serving as the Branch Chief of Emerging Technology and managing a portfolio of engineering contracts. James also had roles as a Cyber Security Specialist and Senior IT Specialist during their time with the Department of Defense. Before joining the government, James owned and operated their own technology consulting business called Call Jim Enterprises. James also worked as an IT Systems Integrator at South Valley Systems and as a Network Administrator at Rush Order.

James Ayala obtained their MBA in Finance from the University of San Diego in 2007. Prior to that, they earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from UC San Diego, completing their degree in 2006. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) in 2021, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) in 2020, and Security+ in 2016. James also holds certifications in A+, Certified Ethical Hacker, Contracting L1, Information Technology L1, Network+, Program Management L1, and Science & Technology L1.
