MAZE Welcomes Marta Costa Back to the Team

MAZE Welcomes Marta Costa Back to the Team

MAZE, a Portuguese company helping businesses to solve social and environmental issues, has welcomed Marta Costa back to its team as a Programme Manager. Marta served an internship at MAZE in 2018-2019 and is a welcome addition to the company’s full time staff. “I was super lucky to have the opportunity to do my internship at MAZE because it helped me realize quite early the field I would like to work in and the things I’m good at.” Marta said. “It’s a lot about organization, communication and relationships. I’m really passionate about using my skills in those areas to have an impact on the world, and help companies to use their profits to have a true impact in society. That’s what’s so amazing about what MAZE does and it makes me want to be part of the solution and help every day.” Marta recently finished her Master’s degree in management from Lund University in Sweden, and she also has a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Political Science.. She recently served as a Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability Project Manager for creative agency Born, and says her time there has helped to prepare her for her busy new role. “I’m the gatekeeper of all the internal processes and information, analyzing a lot of profiles, data and KPI’s,” said Marta. “Wearing all those different hats is one of the main challenges, requiring me to organize my day in order to get to all those things efficiently, while still guaranteeing that everyone in our network has all the support they need.” Outside of work, Marta enjoys reading historical fiction, and going out for dinner and beer with her friends and family. She is passionate about advocacy, something she learned more about on volunteer trips to Mozambique in 2014 and a France refugee camp in 2016, and aspires to have her own startup helping minorities to have a greater presence and voice in the community.
