Matt Lees is an experienced engineering professional currently serving as the Head of Weapon Effects Management (WEMS) for the Future Combat Air System (FCAS) programme at MBDA since May 2017. In this role, Matt leads a multi-disciplinary team across multiple countries and companies, focusing on technical and programme management. Prior to this, Matt held positions such as Software Group Lead and Senior Principal Engineer at MBDA, managing a large team and overseeing critical projects. Matt's career also includes consultancy work at PA Consulting Group and senior software engineering roles at NDS Limited, Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, Alenia Marconi Systems, and Marconi, predominantly working in C, C++, and Embedded C on various defence and consumer sector projects. Matt holds an MEng in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Sussex and completed additional educational training at HEC Paris in 2022.
