Tim Volonakis is a Senior Principal Engineer leading the Image Processing group at MBDA, a position they have held since 2023. Previously, Tim served as a Principal Engineer in the same department and worked as a Research Associate in Computer Vision at Bristol Robotics Lab from 2016 to 2019. Tim earned a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Bristol, where their thesis focused on low-level vision principles for artificial surrogate observers. They hold a 1st Class BSc in Computing from Anglia Ruskin University, completed in 2012. Tim also began their career as an Assistant Software Programmer at VideoBooth Systems from 2009 to 2010.
