Paul Wagner studied Optical Technology and Image Processing at the University of Applied Science Darmstadt, Germany, where they earned a B.Sc. in 2012 and an M.Sc. in 2014. Their Bachelor Thesis focused on Fiber Bragg Gratings, while their Master Thesis examined laser-induced contamination on high-reflective optics. From 2014 to 2022, they contributed to the Laser-based space debris monitoring project at the German Aerospace Center in Stuttgart, functioning as an optical engineer. In April 2022, they obtained a Doctor of Engineering Sciences from the University of Stuttgart, and since August 2022, they have worked as the Optical Ground Station system engineer at the Institute of Communication and Navigation at the German Aerospace Center in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany.
