Michael Tavis has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Michael started their career as a Financial Analyst at Exxon in 1987. Michael then worked as the Director of USSR and East European Affairs at Joseph E Seagram & Sons, where they managed new product development and developed political and economic initiatives.

In 1992, Tavis joined Citicorp Securities as a Vice-President, where they marketed and executed large structured transactions and created proprietary structures for Fortune 50 clients. In 1994, they became the Managing Director at The US-Russia Investment Fund.

Tavis later went on to become the owner and Managing Partner of Baltic Forest Products Group/Baltic International Forest Group, the largest manufacturer and exporter of wood mouldings in the Baltic States. Michael also co-founded a large sawmill in Belarus supplying semi-finished products to manufacturers.

In 2010, Tavis became a Founding Partner of Sidgunda Bio, a biogas renewable energy company, where they secured funding and oversaw development. In 2016, they became a Founding Partner of EnCata - Engineering CATALYST, a US partner of a European technology company with 200 engineers and a fully equipped factory.

Currently, Tavis is the Managing Partner at MBicycle, a full-stack software development company specializing in mobile and web-based applications. Michael is responsible for the growth of the company in the North American market.

Recently, Tavis has also taken on the role of Managing Partner at Belitsoft Software Development Company starting in 2022.

Michael Tavis completed their education history as follows: Michael earned a bachelor's degree in Russian studies from Dartmouth College from 1979 to 1982. Michael then pursued an advanced master's certificate in finance from the NYU Stern School of Business from 1977 to 1979. Finally, they obtained a master of public administration (MPA) degree in international relations/economics from Princeton University between 1985 and 1987.
