VP, Corporate Development at McEwen Mining

Stefan Spears is the Vice President of Corporate Development at McEwen Mining. Stefan has over 15 years of experience in the mining industry, including project management, corporate development, and engineering.

Stefan started their career as an engineer with Goldcorp Inc., where they worked on various mining projects for three years. Stefan then transitioned into corporate development, and spent seven years with McEwen Mining Inc. in various leadership positions. In 2013, Stefan left McEwen to start their own company, Coreprint Patterns Inc. Coreprint was a successful venture, and was sold to an individual investor in December 2014. Stefan then rejoined McEwen Mining as the Vice President of Corporate Development.

In their current role, Stefan is responsible for leading the Company’s business development initiatives and identifying, evaluating and executing on new business opportunities. Under Stefan’s leadership, McEwen Mining has made several strategic acquisitions, resulting in significant growth for the Company.

Stefan Spears has a BScE in Civil-Structural Engineering from Queen's University. Stefan is certified by the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration Inc. (SME) as a Member, and by the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum as a Member.

Stefan Spears reports to Robert McEwen, Chairman & Chief Owner. They are on a team with Rory Greyvensteyn - Director, Operations, Canada, Michael Meding - Vice President & General Manager, McEwen Copper, and William Shaver - Interim COO.
