Carmichael Roberts is a seasoned entrepreneur and investor with extensive experience in founding and leading innovative companies in technology and healthcare. As the Founder and Managing Partner of Material Impact since 2016, Carmichael Roberts focuses on transforming materials into impactful companies. Additionally, Carmichael Roberts serves as a member of Breakthrough Energy Ventures and holds leadership positions in multiple organizations, including Director at Zero Mass Water, Chairman of the Board at Soft Robotics Inc., and Co-founder and Chairman of the Board at MC10 Inc., 1366 Technologies, Inc., and Diagnostics For All. Carmichael Roberts co-founded Arsenal Medical, Foro Energy, and Lyra Therapeutics, effectively recruiting strong teams and securing significant venture capital funding. Academically, Carmichael Roberts holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management, a PhD in Chemistry from Duke University, and has been a NSF Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard University.
