James Armstrong, PLS, serves as the Director of Geomatics RDU and holds various leadership roles at McAdams since July 2017, focusing on quality assurance and control network adjustments for geomatics projects. Prior experience includes serving as Vice President of Surveying at WithersRavenel, overseeing over 50 personnel and managing project profitability through effective backlog development. James began a career in land surveying at Blue: Land Water Infrastructure and has advanced expertise in Civil 3D, Microstation, and HDS scanning. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Geomatics from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, a Bachelor's in Business Management from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, and Associate’s degrees in Civil Engineering Technology and Land Surveying Technology from Sandhills Community College.
