Jonathan Matthews

Jonathan Matthews, AACI, CFA, currently serves as Senior Director of Origination in the Commercial Mortgages Group at MCAP since May 2022, focusing on CMHC insured financing across Canada. Prior to this, Jonathan held the position of Vice President and B.C. Region Leader at BentallGreenOak, managing a $2 billion portfolio from January 2019 to May 2022. Jonathan's extensive experience also includes a role as Director of Commercial Mortgages at CMLS Financial, where oversight involved underwriting and managing investor platforms; and as Risk Manager overseeing $1 billion in annual mortgage applications. Earlier roles include Mortgage Officer at Trez Capital Corporation and Commercial Mortgage Underwriter at Standard Life Assurance Company of Canada, as well as an appraisal position at BC Assessment. Jonathan's educational background includes a Chartered Financial Analyst designation, an Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute designation, and a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from The University of British Columbia.
