Dr Inġ. Brian Azzopardi is the co-Founder and Chair of The Foundation for Innovation and Research – Malta (FiR.mt) and serves as a Senior Lecturer II at the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST) and as a Visiting Senior Lecturer at the University of Malta. They have held senior academic and research positions since 2011 across the United Kingdom, Lithuania, and Malta, while contributing over €10M to projects with €30M in budget in the past decade. Brian is a Senior Member of IEEE and has received several awards for their contributions to research and academia, including the MCST-JRC Young Scientist Award. They hold a BEng(Hons) from the University of Malta and a PhD from The University of Manchester, alongside various teaching qualifications. With a focus on energy and environmental economics, Brian has authored numerous research papers and supervised various postgraduate students.
