Gary Dotson

Gary Dotson is a seasoned journalism professional with extensive experience in editing and reporting. Currently serving as a Roving Editor for McClatchy since January 2020, primarily within the Southeast Region, Gary has also held the position of Interim Editor at The Island Packet. Prior experience includes the role of City Editor at the Belleville News-Democrat. Gary's academic background includes a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia and two Master's Degrees in Mass Communication/Media Studies from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, attained between August 2011 and May 2014.
