The owners of McDrake both retired Seabees from the Naval Construction Force (NCF) of the United States Navy. After their Naval retirement, the managing owners of McDrake gained additional construction experience working in residential, commercial, and government construction before creating McDrake Enterprises, LLC.

McDrake works with the Department of Veteran Affairs to help disabled veterans modify an existing home to accommodate their disability. The Department of Veteran Affairs offers Specially Adapted Housing (SAH) grants to disabled veterans. McDrake is one of the trusted contractors in the Hampton Roads area that has experience with the SAH guidelines, processes, and additional inspections.
