Lee Ayers earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Clemson University in 1982. They began their career as a Load Management Engineer at Central Electric Power Cooperative from 1982 to 1986. Subsequently, they served as VP-Engineering at Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative, Inc. from 1986 to 2014, also holding the title of System Engineer during their tenure.
