Steven Gilbert is an experienced GIS Project Manager currently with McHenry County since January 2021. Previously, Steven served as the Geographic Information Systems Manager for The Nature Conservancy from December 1999 to July 2020, where responsibilities included directing the Texas Chapter GIS program, managing large-scale conservation projects, and generating cartographic products for numerous land protection initiatives. Prior roles include working as a Physical Science Technician/GIS Specialist at the USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service from 1997 to 1999, where Steven conducted pilot projects for nationwide public data and developed mobile geospatial solutions, and as a Mapping/GIS Specialist at Larson Systems, L.L.C. from 1997 to 1998, focusing on compiling and converting geospatial data for precision agriculture. Steven holds a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Biology from Iowa State University.
