Since September 2011, John has worked as a live plant broker for McHutchison, serving retail and wholesale greenhouses, nurseries, and garden centers. Prior to this role, John was a sales representative at McConkey Co from November 1993 to September 2011, focusing on hardgood sales to the same markets. John's earlier career includes experience with Burlington Northern Railroad from August 1990 to July 1993, where John held multiple roles, including Engineer, Conductor, Switchman, and Brakeman, managing freight operations in the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia, Canada. John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Horticultural Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earned between 1978 and 1982, along with foundational studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee from 1976 to 1978.
