Brigitte Smith, AICP, is an experienced urban planner currently serving as an Assistant Planner at McKenna since September 2022, where responsibilities include acting as Zoning Administrator and leading public engagement for master planning processes. Previous roles include a Brademas Fellowship at U Snap Bac, legislative assistance at the Michigan House of Representatives, and co-founding Mothers Supporting Mothers, which aimed to support families in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. As a Field Organizer for the Michigan ONE Campaign, Brigitte significantly increased voter turnout, while earlier experiences in international projects involved developing water infrastructure plans and educational initiatives in Nicaragua. Brigitte holds a Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning and a Bachelor's degree in Political Economy and Development from the University of Michigan.
