Tim Murphy

Tim Murphy, MBA, is an experienced professional with a focus on community development, equity, and sustainability. Currently serving as a 2024 PLACES Fellow with The Funders Network and a member of the Board of Advisors at the Glen Nelson Center at American Public Media Group, Tim is committed to elevating diverse media ventures. As a Program Officer at the McKnight Foundation since August 2016, Tim works on fostering shared prosperity through strategic grant making and leads initiatives focused on democracy and local media. Previously, Tim held positions at the Natural Resources Defense Council and the Metropolitan Council of the Twin Cities, gaining valuable experience in environmental policy and project management. Tim holds an MBA from the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management and a B.S. in Environmental Sciences, Policy, & Management from the University of Minnesota.
