Charles Maimone

Charles A. Maimone is the vice chancellor for finance and administration for NC State University, responsible for strategic oversight of the university’s major business operations including financial services, human resources, facilities operations, university police and emergency management, campus enterprises, institutional risk management, university real estate and foundation finance.

Prior to joining NC State in 2019, Maimone served as vice chancellor for business affairs and chief financial officer for the University of North Carolina-Greensboro since 2014. Previously, Maimone was the vice chancellor for business affairs and chief financial officer for the University of North Carolina-Wilmington, and held similar leadership roles with the College of William and Mary (Virginia), Miami University (Ohio) and Kent State University (Ohio).

Serving the public higher education sector for more than thirty years, Maimone has led numerous university initiatives including the development and implementation of shared services, analytics, unified budget processes, alternative distance education business models and new university enterprises focused on innovation and entrepreneurship.

Maimone received his B.A. in sociology and M.A. in education from Kent State University, and M.B.A. from the College of William and Mary.
