Steven Walton

Steven Walton is an experienced cybersecurity and network engineering professional currently serving as the Manager of Security Operations at MCNC since September 2020. Previously, Steven worked as a Senior Security Engineer at MetLife, where responsibilities included maintaining security for over 150,000 endpoints and providing technical leadership across 25 countries. With a background in network engineering at Allscripts, Steven has been involved in designing and supporting networks for healthcare applications and has also contributed to various pop culture conventions in multiple roles. Education includes pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Information Technology at the University of the Cumberlands and holding a Master of Science in Information Technology from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, among other degrees.
