Derek Evans is currently the CFO at McWhinney. Prior to that, they were with Wells Fargo for over 9 years, where they were an Executive Vice President and Regional Manager. In this role, they were responsible for marketing bank products to C-suite level executives, managing a team of 35 real estate lending professionals, overseeing underwriting of credit and loan structure, monitoring portfolio credit quality, and cross-selling bank products.
Derek has extensive experience in underwriting for REITs, private equity funds and private companies/individuals. Derek has a specific focus in multifamily, office, industrial, retail, hospitality and single-family attached housing. Derek is also a licensed Investment Banker, with Series 79 and 63 Licenses.
Derek Evans completed their undergraduate studies at Hastings College, earning a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management.
Derek Evans reports to Ray Pittman, President & CEO. They work with Krista Sprenger - EVP of Commercial & Mixed-Use, Julie Den Herder - Chief Accounting & Administrative Officer, and Dave Johnstone - Chief Investment Officer, Hospitality.
