Mac Johnson

Mac Johnson currently serves as the Chief Air Safety Investigator and SMS Principal at MD Helicopters since March 2023. Prior to this role, Mac Johnson spent 24 years at FedEx, where responsibilities included serving as Senior Advisor Flight Safety, managing industry-leading Aviation Safety Action Programs (ASAP) for both corporate and cargo aviation, analyzing data trends to identify safety risks, and implementing remediation strategies. Additional roles at FedEx involved oversight of aircraft hub launches as Flight Coordinator, ensuring timely delivery of express air freight, and managing nightly operations as Courier Team Lead. Mac Johnson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, earned between 1996 and 2000.
