Andrew Williams

Andrew Williams is a highly experienced engineering professional with a focus on systems engineering and product development. Currently serving as a Staff System Engineer at MDA since February 2020, Andrew specializes in Mars Rover locomotion subsystems. Previously, a Senior Engineer and Chief Product Engineer at Rolls-Royce from 2010 to 2020, Andrew was involved in designing underwater towed bodies and leading R&D activities from concept to product realization. Earlier experience includes working as a Senior Systems Engineer at Metris Canada, where Andrew transformed a tracking system into a market-ready product, and as a Principal Member of Technical Staff at COM DEV, contributing to various rocket science projects. Andrew also has a background as a Thermal Engineer for Calian Communications Systems, creating thermal models for spacecraft. Academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics from The University of British Columbia.
