Joyce Zhang

Joyce Zhang, P.Eng, is a skilled mechanical engineer currently working at MDA as an Intermediate Mechanical Member of Technical Staff, focusing on the design of the Canadarm3. Previously, Joyce contributed as a Junior Mechanical Member of Technical Staff on the Canadarm3 robotic system for the Lunar Gateway program, and worked as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Neptec Design Group on the Dextre Deployable Vision System. Joyce's experience also includes a role as a Mechanical Designer/Research Assistant at the Materials Interaction with Biological Systems Lab, where design work focused on a human eye model. Additional experience includes researching wireless sensor technology for blood glucose monitoring at the Schlegel-UW Research Institute for Aging and serving as a Math Modeller with Waterloo iGEM, contributing to yeast prion research. Joyce's early career included developing an Android app for gait cycle assessment at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute. Joyce holds a B.A.Sc with Distinction in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
