Ray Jones

Staff Scientist

Ray Jones is a highly experienced scientist with a focus on remote sensing and satellite navigation systems. Currently serving as a Staff Scientist at MDA since April 2016, Ray leads the development of remote sensing system simulators and conducts research on hyperspectral imaging sensors. As the owner of Fox Technical Consulting since November 2011, Ray delivers technical projects, including assessments on SatNav technology trends and proposal writing for European navigation initiatives. Previous roles include Principal Consultant at Helios Technology, where Ray led the development of the Galileo Time Service Prototype Facility, and Senior Principal at Thales, overseeing the GILT project for SatNav augmentation. Additional experience includes technical consultancy at Eurocontrol and Hughes Aircraft Company, and research at UBC. Ray holds a PhD in X-Ray Diffraction from Imperial College London and pursued further education at Johns Hopkins University through Coursera.
