David Spaight

MDS Pharma Services President David Spaight has more than two decades of experience in the global life sciences industry and a track-record of successfully building strong businesses.

Prior to joining MDS in April 2006, he served as Senior Vice-President, Global Sales and Marketing at Fisher Scientific Products, where he was responsible for the integration of the sales, marketing and research and development teams in North America, Europe and Asia. In this role, he consolidated R&D into four centers of excellence and implemented a new product and development process to speed time to market. Before joining Fisher, Mr. Spaight held senior sales, marketing and general management positions at PerkinElmer, Inc., in the Life and Analytical Sciences Division. He left the company in 2005 as Vice-President, Global Sales and Marketing.

He has a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Masters in Business Administration, both from the University of Michigan. In 2007, he was named Chair-Elect of the Association of Clinical Research Organizations (ACRO -- www.acrohealth.org), which represents the clinical outsourcing industry to regulators, biopharmaceutical clients, policy makers and the public in the United States and around the world. He served as 2008 Chairman of the Board of ACRO and is currently the organization's Immediate Past Chair.
