Peter Winter-Smith

Peter Winter-Smith is a highly experienced security consultant with a strong background in application security and custom tooling development. Currently serving as a Principal Security Consultant at MDSec since February 2020, Peter leads research and development for the Nighthawk command and control software product while initially focusing on application security consulting. Previously, Peter held a similar position at NCC Group where notable engagements involved web application security assessments and reverse engineering for major clients. Peter's early career includes freelance consulting and a role at NGS Software, contributing to software security testing and public security advisories. Peter holds a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics from The Open University. Areas of expertise encompass security code review, threat modeling, and exploit development, among others.
