Pietro Rea

Pietro Rea's work experience begins in 2012 when they worked as an iOS Developer for The Huffington Post. Pietro was the first full-time iOS developer on the mobile engineering team and was responsible for rewriting and relaunching the news app.

In 2013, they joined Amazon as a Senior Software Engineer, focusing on mobile and tablet development for Quidsi, a subsidiary of Amazon. Pietro worked on various e-commerce brands during their time there.

Pietro then founded Sweetpea Mobile in 2016, a software development consultancy where they served as the Lead Software Engineer. Pietro was involved in tasks such as recruitment, agile project management, and software architecture and implementation. During this time, they worked with Mighty TV's CEO and CTO to launch a movie recommendation iOS app.

From 2017 to 2020, Pietro worked as an Engineering Manager for Upside Business Travel. Pietro led two scrum teams and managed full-stack web and native mobile development. Pietro was responsible for hiring and mentoring engineers, as well as collaborating with engineering leadership, product, and design.

In 2020, Pietro joined Capital One as a Software Engineer where they worked for a year before leaving to focus on their own business ventures.

Most recently, in 2022, Pietro co-founded Meadow, a fintech platform aimed at transforming the higher education payments industry. Pietro serves as the Co-Founder and Head of Engineering, overseeing the development and implementation of the platform.

Pietro Rea attended Princeton University from 2007 to 2012, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. In 2009, they also spent a year at Beijing Normal University, studying Chinese Language & Culture. Prior to their university education, Pietro attended Thomas Jefferson High School for Science & Technology, where they acquired an Advanced Studies Degree.
