John Taylor has a diverse work experience in the housing management sector. John started their career as a Housing Strategy Manager at Notting Hill Housing Trust in 1990 and worked there until 1997. Following this, they established their consultancy firm called Henderson Taylor Partnership, where they worked as a Director/Owner from 1997 to 2002, specializing in creating business partnerships between the private financial and property sectors and the public housing sector. John then worked as a Temporary Accommodation Manager at Dominion Housing Group from 2002 to 2003 and as a Deputy Director at Genesis Housing Group from 2003 to 2007. John served as Chief Executive at Orchard & Shipman plc from 2007 to 2012. In 2012, they started their consulting firm, John Taylor Consulting Ltd, where they worked as Director/Owner for a year. From 2013 to the present, they have held the position of Managing Director of Housing Management Services at Mears Group PLC. Additionally, they have served as a Board Trustee at The Nationwide Foundation from 2014 to 2020 and as a Board Member at Housing Solutions since 2020.
From 1978 to 1985, John Taylor attended Felpham Comprehensive School. Then, from 1985 to 1988, they obtained a Bachelor's degree at the University of Leicester, majoring in History & Politics.
