Ayla Bender began their work experience as an Audit Manager and Staff Accountant at Ernst & Young, LLP in San Antonio, TX from September 1989 to February 1992. Ayla then worked as a Sales Controller at Coca-Cola Bottling from February 1992 to November 1997, where they were responsible for budgeting, sales accounting, and payroll management. Ayla joined CVS Health in November 1998 as a Director of Finance, providing financial and business support for various operations, including reporting, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. Ayla worked at CVS Health until December 2015. In 2016, Ayla joined UT Health San Antonio as the Director of Financial Operations, overseeing financial accounting and reporting, revenue cycle, and providing financial analysis for clinical operations, education, and research. Additionally, they served as the Associate Dean of Finance starting in May 2019. Ayla's most recent role is as the Vice President of Finance and Controller at MedAvail Technologies Inc./MedAvail Technologies US Inc., starting in September 2022.

Ayla Bender holds a Master's degree in Accounting from Our Lady of the Lake University and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from The University of Texas at San Antonio. Ayla is also a Certified Public Accountant, certified by the Texas State Board of Accountancy.
