Vidya Murthy

Vidya Murthy's work experience includes various roles in the cybersecurity and IT audit fields. Vidya currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer at MedCrypt since August 2021. Prior to that, they held the position of Vice President of Operations at the same company from July 2018 to August 2021.

Before joining MedCrypt, Vidya worked at BD, where they served as a Cybersecurity Risk Senior Manager and a Product Cybersecurity Compliance & Strategy Leader. In these roles, they ensured compliance with security regulations and managed electronic protected health information. Vidya also played a significant role in integrating intellectual property governance efforts and implementing a global data governance model.

Prior to BD, Vidya worked as a Global IT Internal Audit Manager at both CareFusion and PwC. In these positions, they conducted IT audits, assessed financial reporting and operational assessments, and completed third party assurance reporting.

Vidya started their career at PwC in 2006 as a Manager, where they led teams in governance, risk and compliance, and application security for finance and customer information systems. Vidya also gained experience in SOX 404 attestation and audit projects related to Sarbanes-Oxley and SAS70 Type II. Vidya later took on the role of Advisory Manager at PwC, where they continued to demonstrate strong client relations, people development, and team leadership skills.

In 2012, Vidya briefly worked at PwC South Africa as the National Corporate Responsibility Manager, focusing on corporate responsibility initiatives.

Throughout their career, Vidya has demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity, IT audit, and compliance, and has contributed to the growth and success of the companies they have worked for.

Vidya Murthy completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) from The Wharton School, where they studied from 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, they attended USC Marshall School of Business, but the specific years are unknown, where they earned their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting. Additionally, Vidya pursued a minor in Biology/Biological Sciences, General at the University of Southern California.

In terms of certifications, they obtained the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification from ISACA in 2006. Furthermore, Vidya has been recognized as a vGHC 2021 Speaker by AnitaB.org, although the specific year of attainment is not provided.
