Media Ranch is a global IP, format licensing and distribution company founded by Sophie Ferron, operating between Montreal and Los Angeles.

The name Media Ranch comes from our founder’s long-standing desire to one day own a ranch in the American Southwest, but it also reflects something more symbolic. Media Ranch was conceived as a virtual place where teams can gather, collaborate, and create together. A shared space for ideas to be nurtured, shaped, and built with intention. Executive producing as stewardship, not ownership alone.

We work at the intersection of creativity and commercial strategy, helping creators, producers, rights holders and platforms source, acquire and scale ideas and existing assets into repeatable revenue. 
Our focus is on IP that can travel across territories, formats and business models.

Our work spans IP and library monetization, format development and creative licensing, content acquisition, and global distribution and partnerships.

Horsepower is Media Ranch’s international format incubator. Through Horsepower, we mentor creators from multiple countries and help develop original IP with strong commercial foundations and global potential, combining creative development with rights strategy, deal architecture and go to market thinking.

Media Ranch also works across media, sports and entertainment where communities and IP extend far beyond the screen. We collaborate with partners including Improbable Media and Giannis Antetokounmpo to develop creator led and athlete led IP designed to scale globally.
