Brian Blackmore

Brian Blackmore has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. Brian currently serves as a Senior Software Engineer at MediaAlpha since January 2022. Before this, they worked at Amazon as a Software Developer - eCFT Developer Productivity from October 2018 to December 2021.

Brian also had a substantial tenure at Amazon Web Services, where they held multiple roles. From January 2015 to October 2018, they worked as a Software Development Engineer. Additionally, they worked as a Systems Engineer, Hardware Engineering from September 2013 to December 2014, focusing on firmware and software upgrade automation, hardware stress and capacity testing.

Prior to their experience at Amazon, Brian held the position of Linux Systems Administrator at Bluebox from March 2012 to August 2013. Brian'sresponsibilities included advanced PostgreSQL database and table tuning, replication management, advanced Apache tuning, and Linux kernel network tuning.

Furthermore, Brian has teaching experience as an Instructor at ITT Technical Institute from September 2004 to December 2011.

Lastly, they worked as a Researcher at QuikCAT.com from May 2000 to September 2001, primarily focusing on mathematical R&D to support algorithms for cryptographic networking systems, data compression, image compression, and audio compression technologies, with a research focus in algebraic systems, ring theory, monoid, and semigroup theories.

Brian Blackmore completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Mathematics from Case Western Reserve University in 2001. Brian then pursued a Master of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Washington, which they obtained in 2003.
