Steven Smith has a diverse work experience in the media industry. Steven started their career in 1988 as an Assistant Professor at the University of Virginia, where they taught Media Criticism and Modern Popular Culture. Steven then moved on to Access Intelligence in 1997 as Min's Digital Media Editor, a position they held for 20 years until 2017. During this time, they developed expertise in digital media. In 2001, Steven joined Mediapost as a Columnist/Critic/Features Writer and also took on the role of VP, Editorial Director - Events in 2014. In this role, they oversaw and directed event content for various marketing trade events in the US and Europe. Additionally, they served as the Mobile Insider columnist, providing commentary on mobile marketing and media. In 2002, they briefly served as the President of Roving Eyeball. Steven Smith received their B.A. in American Studies/Literature from Marlboro College in 1980. Steven went on to pursue further education and obtained a Ph.D. in American Civilization from Brown University in 1990.
