John Cate began their career in 1986 as an Associate Media Director at McCann Worldgroup. John then joined Ketchum Advertising in 1994 as a VP Associate Media Director. In 1998, they moved to TBWA\\Chiat\\Day as a VP, Media Director, where they were trained in the Chiat Day Communications Planning Process. In 1999, they became VP, Media Director at Leftfield Interactive, where they were responsible for digital media strategy and recruitment/training of talent. In 2001, they joined Carat as an EVP, General Manager, managing the Western Region. In 2010, they became the CEO of Mediasmith, where they lead a talented team in delivering value to clients.
John Cate attended San Jose State University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising.
