Doru Calin

Doru Calin is an accomplished leader in wireless communications and technology innovation, currently serving as AVP and Head of the U.S. 6G Wireless Research Center at MediaTek since March 2022, where Doru is also the Lead Research Scientist for 6G. In addition to this role, Doru has been an Adjunct University Professor at Columbia University's School of Engineering and Applied Science since September 2009. Doru holds multiple editorial positions, including membership on the IEEE Wireless Communications Editorial Board since July 2022. Previous roles include Head of Private Wireless Networks at Nokia and various leadership positions at Nokia Bell Labs, where Doru made significant contributions to 5G and emerging wireless technologies. Doru's educational background includes a PhD in Computer Science and an Executive Education program at MIT Sloan School of Management, complemented by master's degrees in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering.
