Medics Against Violence is a registered Scottish charity(SC041153) founded by clinicians and known for running successful and award winning projects including Navigator, Youth Navigator, MAV Schools, Ask, Support, Care (ASC) and Pathfinder.  We work in schools, with health care professionals, in Emergency Departments and with communities.
Our values whether working in the education and training space or the support work space are Integrity, Compassion and Empowerment. Our primary aim is to prevent and reduce violence and we do this by working at the levels of primary, secondary and tertiary prevention with individuals and communities. We  recognise that at the root of violence are a range of social harms and trauma. 
Our approach to education and training and support work is trauma informed and evidence based and, in addition, when we work directly with people our approach is holistic, supportive of all of the issues they are facing, and inclusive of their wider families. We proudly run our projects across Scotland and through them contribute to tackling inequality and improving population health.
