Desiree Garcia

Desiree Garcia is a design leader at Medium, focused on building the future of reading and writing on the web. With over 15 years of experience, they have held numerous roles including Director of Product Design at Crossbeam and Senior Product Designer at Loom, where they contributed to the transformation of Loom into a widely used collaboration platform. Desiree has also made significant impacts as a UX Design Lead at IBM, where they helped launch Watson Assistant, and as an editor for A List Apart, facilitating discussions around web technologies. Currently, Desiree is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Computer Applications at the University of Notre Dame and a Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology at The George Washington University.
